BYO Coach is designed with privacy in mind. The free tier requires no account and collects no personal information. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights under Australian privacy law.

BYO Coach is a registered Australian business operated by Dan Hunter. You can contact us at support@byocoachapp.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.
Free tier (no account required):
- Training sessions you generate — stored locally on your device using SwiftData
- Lift records you choose to log — stored locally on your device
- Exercise preferences you set — stored locally on your device
- No personal information, no email address, no account data
BYO Coach Pro (subscription required):
- Account information if you sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or email
- Training context you choose to provide during onboarding — including years training, training frequency, age, any injuries or movement restrictions, and self-reported progress — used solely to personalise AI coaching responses
- Post-workout notes you write, used to generate session coaching feedback
- Subscription status managed by RevenueCat
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and display your training sessions within the app
- To provide personalised AI coaching responses via BYO Coach Pro
- To track your lift history and display progress
- To manage your Pro subscription
- To respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Third Party Services
BYO Coach uses the following third party services:
- Anthropic API — Pro coaching responses are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI. Conversation data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not send any data to Anthropic on the free tier.
- RevenueCat — Subscription management for BYO Coach Pro. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Sign-in providers (Pro only) — If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, your authentication is handled by those providers subject to their respective privacy policies.
5. Data Storage and Security
Free tier data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Pro account data is stored securely and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as required to provide the service.
6. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of any marketing communications

7. Children's Privacy
BYO Coach is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify Pro users of significant changes via email. The most current version will always be available at byocoachapp.com/privacy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
